Dear colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the II-nd All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «The Future of the Arctic Starts Here», which will take place at the branch of Murmansk Arctic State University in Apatity on April 18-20, 2018. The Conference concept is based on the need to apply scientific understanding of the Arctic to ensure regional sustainability. In the course of the work, it is expected to consider urgent issues of the possibility of the Arctic zone’s socio-economic development, including the main directions for developing various types of economic activities in the Arctic, environmental studies and rational nature management, and creation of theoretical and experimental bases for new methods and technologies for exploring and developing the Arctic. An important direction of the Conference is the interdisciplinary consideration of a comfortable social environment for the population’s life support and preservation of the Russian Arctic zone’s cultural heritage.
MAIN SCIENTIFIC DIRECTIONS:
- Trajectories of the Arctic socio-economic development.
- Innovative development of mining and fuel-energy complexes of the Russian Arctic zone.
- Cultural heritage and transformation of the Russian Arctic’s cultural landscape in the process of territory development.
- Legal issues of the Arctic territories development.
- The Arctic through young researchers’ eyes.
- Topical issues of education in the Northern and Arctic regions.
- Problems of health protection and social well-being of the population in the Arctic.
- Conservation of biodiversity in the Far North.
Within the framework of the Conference there will be round tables, discussion platforms.
During the Conference excursions to the museums of Kirovsk and Apatity will be organized, it is planned to hold a master class «Playing in the small and medium-sized group as a method of eliminating communication barriers» for schoolchildren, students, and teachers interested in forming soft skills. The program of the Conference includes a visiting session at the Barents Center of Humanities KSC RAS.
IMPORTANT DATES
Applications and abstracts for participation in the Conference will be accepted up to March 16, 2018.
Notification of inclusion in the conference program – up to March 26, 2018.
Submission of the article text – up to April 02, 2018.
Conference will take place on the 18-20 of April, 2018.
Employees of research and development organizations, industrial enterprises, representatives of authorities and business, teachers, post-graduate students, undergraduates, students and schoolchildren are invited to participate in the Conference.
Based on the results of the Conference, an electronic collection of the Conference materials will be published and sent for indexing to the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) bibliographic database.
The Conference provides an opportunity to participate part-time (correspondence form).
The requirements for the abstract presentation and examples are provided in information letter (Appendix 1)
Attention! Applications submitted to the Organizing Committee later than March 16, 2018, will not be considered.
THE ORGANISATIONAL FEE
The registration (organisational) fee for participation in the Conference is 100 rubles. For MASU students it is free.
Organizational fee is paid only after making decision of Organizing Committee to include the report (article) in the Conference program (after February 22, 2018).
